is the remarkable revolving set designed and constructed by Allen Bantly
and his crew! The show opens Nov. 2 and runs Nov. 3, 9, 10, 11
(matinee), 16 and 17.
COMING IN NOVEMBER
The Players will be holding auditions for The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, written by
John
Bishop and directed by John Pease. Audition dates will be Nov. 10
from 1 to 4 p.m., Nov. 11 from 7 to 9 p.m., and callbacks if needed on
Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. Warm up the long winter months by participating in
this wildly comedic romp, which pokes non-stop fun at show business and
the corny thrillers of old Hollywood. The tale unfolds in a Chappaqua,
N.Y., estate library, with secret passageways, sliding panels, and
people who aren't what they seem to be.
A GREAT LIGHTING WORKSHOP!
On
Sunday, September 30, 28 people gathered at a Player's lighting
workshop, conducted by Bruce Gray. The attendees ranged from seasoned
directors of Players shows to brand-new people interested in learning
how to operate our new lighting system. Bruce began by explaining the
play production process from a lighting designer's perspective. After
explaining all the components, parts and processes of the lighting
system, Bruce hung light fixtures on a pole just above the stage and
physically demonstrated their use. It was a remarkable display of
Bruce's knowledge, and it showed us the amount of time and effort that
goes into designing and hanging the lights for a show. Everyone stayed
for the whole three-hour workshop, and many stayed to try out the
system. We now have a batch of new volunteers who want to learn about
designing and operating show lighting. This workshop for volunteers was
the first in a series we plan to present during the coming year. Thank
you, Bruce!

CONCORD PLAYERS FALL HUDDLE

slowing down and bringing us cool breezes and falling leaves, The
Concord Players are at full speed in preparing for our brand new season!
Come join us at 51 Walden Street for tasty nibbles, some light
entertainment and a first-hand look inside the creative minds of our new
directors. Douglas Cooper will tell us about the season's kick-off
show, Mr. Roberts, written by Thomas Heggen. John Pease will fill you in on the winter show, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, written by John Bishop. Kirsten Gould will talk about our spring musical, The Sound of Music, written by Rodgers and Hammerstein. We look forward to seeing you there!

Ed Bernard will be performing in Murdered to Death
at Cannon Theatre in Littleton, opening Oct. 26 and running for four
weekends. In October, Faith Pelletier is directing a show at the new
Chelmsford Center for the Arts, called Yes, My Darling Daughter, by Mark Reed. Connie Benn, Tom Frates, Ethan Butler, and Jon Saul, all of whom appeared in the Players production of The Scarlet Pimpernel, will be performing in Anything Goes for the Savoyard Light Opera Company in Carlisle, which opens on November 10 and will run for two weekends.

seats from year to year (providing you subscribe to the same series), or

to go along with your subscription seats, you can take a $2.00 discount
off the regular price of each ticket (Regular ticket prices are $20 for Mr. Roberts and Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 and $25.00 for Sound of Music).
This discount does not apply to a website purchase, though. Finally, if
you want to exchange your tickets, we will make every effort to give
you seats close to your regular ones. But please note that your tickets
can only be exchanged for another performance of the same show.
